Tuesday, October 29, 2019

Reception at 6:00 PM, Program at 6:30 PM

Charleston Library Society

164 King Street, Charleston, SC

The Ambassador’s Corner, a collaborative venture between LCWA and Charleston Library Society, features discussions between Ambassador James Melville and today’s most impactful thought-leaders on the global scene.

James Melville is the host of the Corner. He recently retired after a thirty-three year distinguished career in the foreign service, holding positions in Berlin, London, Moscow, Paris, and Washington. Most recently he served as the US Ambassador to Estonia.

Deborah Lee James, the Corner’s first guest, has thirty years of senior homeland and national security experience in the federal government and private sector. She served as the 23rd Secretary of the Air Force (2013-17), leading a force of 660,000 and managing a $139 billion budget. Her recent book, Aim High: Chart Your Course and Find Success, offers an insider’s view on how things really work in Washington.

Tickets ($30) can be purchased via a web-link at http://lcwa.cofc.edu/

Join the audience for this premiere event and receive an autographed complimentary copy of Secretary James’ new book.
